Here’s today’s Bottom Line:

We’ll have to endure another day of below-normal temperatures. As high pressure slips off the coast tomorrow we’ll see a dramatic — dramatic — warmup with temps into the upper 60s to around 70 (normal high is about 57).

Sunny skies for today and Tuesday.

A frontal boundary will drop southeast over the area Wednesday afternoon. This will bring the chance for some rain, and a return to cooler temps for the end of the work week. Nothing significant with the front on Wednesday, perhaps a tenth of an inch of rain Wednesday afternoon.

Thursday should be dry as we’ll be in between systems.

There is some chatter on social media about a storm system likely to have some impacts here over the Valentine’s Day weekend.

GFS modeling has a southern-stream low scooting along the Gulf coast, and then transitioning to the Carolina coast by Monday.

Euro develops a low over north Georgia, then lifting northward through western NC before transitioning off the Delmarva coast by Monday.

Both solutions are ALL RAIN SCENARIOS here. It’s really too soon to determine what (if any) impacts this potential system will bring. If the GFS wins, it’ll be rainy late Saturday into Monday. If the Euro wins, it will also be rainy but possibly with a line of thunderstorms.

Again… it’s all speculation at this point on a storm that hasn’t even developed. Please be careful what you see/share on the socials. Any modeling after 5 days is for entertainment purposes only. For now I’m just going with “partly sunny with a chance for rain” for the weekend, with temperatures slightly below normal.
