WHITEVILLE—Layton McLean pitched 5 1/3 innings and gave up four hits with three strikeouts to get the win as the Pack downed West Bladen in baseball on Thursday night.

The win moved the Wolfpack to 2-0 in the Southeastern Conference and 7-3 on the season. Chase Bryan led the Knights with two hits and an RBI.
West Bladen falls to 0-2 in the conference and 7-5 on the season. It was the third loss in a row for the Knights. Whiteville will travel to South Brunswick (1-0, 6-3) today (Monday) while West Bladen will host Fairmont (0-1, 3-7).

LAKE WACCAMAW—Gauge Simmons pitched a two-hit shutout as the Gators defeated Union 2-0 in baseball Thursday night.
Simmons had 11 strikeouts on the night. Hobbton falls to 3-1 in the conference and 5-3 on the season. The Wildcats will travel to East Bladen (3-1, 5-3) on Monday. East Columbus moves to 4-0 in the Carolina Conference and 6-4 on the year. The Gators will visit Elizabethtown on Tuesday to take on East Bladen.

ROSEBORO—Jayce Hatcher had two hits, four RBI’s, and a homerun to lead the Eagles past Lakewood 17-1 in baseball on Thursday night.
The win pushes the East Bladen to 4-0 in the Carolina Conference and 6-4 on the year. The league-leading Eagles will host Hobbton (3-1, 5-3) tonight.
Reed Ammons led the Leopards (1-4, 3-8) with two hits and an RBI. Lakewood will host North Duplin (2-3, 3-4) today (Monday).

CERRO GORDO—North Duplin held West Columbus to one hit as the Rebels defeated the Vikings 11-0 in baseball on Thursday.
Noah Price had three hits and an RBI for the Rebels while Cole Grady and Garrett Stevens had two hits and two runs batted in each. North Duplin (2-3, 3-4) will host Lakewood (1-4, 3-8) on Monday. West Columbus falls to 3-3 in the Carolina Conference and 5-5 on the season. The Vikings will travel to Union (0-5, 0-13) today (Monday).
