No one was injured but a home sustained damage Monday after someone fired shots at the property.
Deputies were called to 72 Ninth St., Bolton at 5:32 p.m., the sheriff’s office said. The homeowner told investigators that the residents had heard multiple gunshots. He later discovered damaged to the siding and a storm window. No injuries were reported.
In an unrelated shooting incident, a motorist on U.S. 74 near Bolton called 911 after his vehicle sustained what appeared to be a gunshot. Christopher Valchez told deputies he was headed east near exit 258 when he heard something strike his Cadillac Escalade.
Valchez pulled off at N.C. 211 and discovered what appeared to be a bullet hole in the SUV. Damages were estimated at $1,000. He told deputies he did not see anyone shooting when he heard the impact.
