Hicks Takes Over WTXY

Glasgow Hicks is now the sole owner and operator of WTXY 1540 AM and1039 FM in Whiteville.

After six years, Jeffery Jones of Jones Media Group signed over the last of his interest in the radio station in February. Jones left Columbus County to pursue other interests in Brunswick County.

“Now my dedicated staff and I can finally do business the right way,” Hicks said. “The number one priority has been bringing real customer service back to WTXY and Columbus County. We love and thank everyone who has stuck by and supported us throughout this whole ordeal.

“This is new, professional management with a professional staff having more than 150 years combined experience,” said Hicks. “We are going to do it right or die trying”.

WTXY Radio in Whiteville plays Rock Classics and has a live morning show from 6 – 10 a.m., Monday-Friday on 1540 AM and 103.9 FM.
