Here’s today’s Bottom Line:

Warm weekend on tap across the area… definitely get out and enjoy the first weekend in SPRING.

The only fly in the ointment is the chance for a severe thunderstorm … an isolated, low (20%) risk … but a risk nonetheless. Modeling projects either a single isolated cell or cluster of cells dropping southeast along the state line later this afternoon into the early evening. The biggest threat from this storm will be large hail; the middle layers of the atmosphere are likely to be quite supportive of hail. There could be quite a bit of lightning with this cell as it moves quickly southeastward.

Or we get nothing whatsoever.

Coming out to Southern Farm Days at the Lake, bring some sunscreen and some bottled water, stay hydrated, but otherwise no weather concerns. It’s going to be a warm one though, with temps in the lower to middle 80s.

Sunday will be sunny and rather hot as our highs flirt with the 90-degree mark for the second time in March.

A cold front will stop by to visit for some coffee and a donuts late Monday afternoon. This may bring a thunderstorm or two… but will definitely usher in much cooler air by Tuesday with highs only in the mid 60s. That cool snap is short-lived and temps are back in the 70s Wednesday and Thursday. Longer-range modeling still points to a cold front passage along the 27th-28th.
