Here’s today’s Bottom Line:
HIGH WILDFIRE DANGER — be *VERY* careful with any burning!!
Nothing but sunshine across the area for today, tomorrow, and most of Friday with a very strong warming trend. Our high on Tuesday was 62… highs today will be 8-10 degrees warmer… highs Thursday will be 8-10 degrees warmer than that… and on Friday 5-8 degrees warmer than THAT!
Then the bottom drops out.
A cold front will cross the region Friday night, possibly bringing a few showers or perhaps a rumble of thunder Friday night (40% chance). Much cooler air will push in on Saturday, with conditions similar to what we experienced yesterday.
A full-fledged FROST THREAT exists Saturday night into early Sunday, as clear skies and light winds will allow temps to fall deep into the 30s. I’m forecasting 34-38 for most of Columbus County, and temps less than 37 are favorable for frost.
That appears to be our final cold outbreak for the season as temps warm up… and according to most long-range modeling… stay warmed up well into April. No significant severe weather threats or anything of the sort in the long-term. Drought continues.
