LAKE WACCAMAW—Amber Ochoa and Gracie Coyle combined for a no-hitter as the East Columbus Gators crushed county rival West Columbus 18-0 in softball on Thursday night.
The Gators are now in the Carolina Conference lead, with a 7-1 record in conference play and 12-5 overall.
Mackenzi Clemmons led the Gators at the plate with three RBI’s and a double. East Columbus will host Ashley (3-11) on Friday (April 17).
West Columbus falls to 4-4 in the conference and 4-8 on the season. The Vikings travel to Green Sea Floyd (SC) (11-5) on Monday.

DUBLIN—Allison Hickman struck out seven and only allowed one hit in four innings to lead West Bladen to its sixth win in a row, defeating Red Springs 13-3 in softball on Tuesday night.
Hickman also went 3-4 with two runs batted in and two runs scored. Senior Kali Allen added three hits, three runs, and two RBI’s for the Knights, as they remain unbeaten in Southeastern Conference play at 5-0 and 8-7 on the year.
Red Springs is now 0-5 in the conference and 5-9 on the season. The teams will do a rematch in Red Springs on Friday (April 17).
