On March 31, Land O’ Lakes celebrated the beginning of the 13th season of the SFGA. Each year, the SFGA get together at local golf courses and do tournaments on Tuesdays to raise money for local charities.
There were 32 players participating in the opening event. In the first tournament of the year, John Blake, Ray Crabtree, Roger Walton, and Rob Conway shot a 126 to win the event. There was a tie for second, as the team of Willard Storms, Joe Candy, Jeff Smith, and Wilber Simmons tied Michael Pait, Dennie Pait, Elvin Meares, and Ron Tart with scores of 132.

On April 2, Vineland Golf of White Lake started its annual Thursday’s Thundering Herds. 20 players entered the tournament. The winners were with a -6 were Jerry Padrick, Stephen Clark, Laiyn Robinson, and Jerry Robinson.
