FAYETTEVILLE—Several area teams are playing in Easter tournaments.
Two area baseball teams are playing in the Randy Ledford Memorial Easter Tournament being held at South View High School in Fayetteville. West Bladen was one of these teams as the Knights defeated Overhills 4-2 in the first round. Hunter Hester led the Knights at the plate with a double, a single, and two RBIs.
Tyrell Cooper led Overhills with a double and two runs batted in. The Knights will take on South View (11-3) on Monday. Overhills will face Western Harnett (4-12) on Monday in the consolation bracket.
Logan Rayburn pitched five innings, giving up two hits and striking out nine as Cape Fear (11-3) downed South Columbus 11-0 in baseball. Parker Wallace had a triple, single, and three RBIs for the Tigers. Cape Fear will face Pine Forest (1-12) on Monday. South Columbus (7-6) will try to regroup against Village Christian (10-5) on Monday.

PEMBROKE—Lumberton crushed East Columbus in the first round of the Robeson County Baseball Tournament 17-0 on Saturday. Manny Alba led the attack with a double, single, and three RBIs for the Pirates in the victory. Lumberton will face Scotland County (5-10) on Monday. The Gators will face Fairmont (4-8) on Monday in the consolation bracket.

PEMBROKE—East Columbus broke a 13-13 tie in the sixth inning with seven runs as the Gators outslugged Lumberton 20-14 in the Robeson County Slugfest Softball Tournament on Saturday. East Columbus is 10-4 on the season with the victory. They will face Scotland County (8-6) on Monday. Lumberton (7-8) got four hits and two RBIs from Ava Hanna in the loss. The Pirates will take on Fairmont (4-9) in the consolation bracket on Monday.
