LAKE WACCAMAW—Aleigh Godwin crushed a home run to go with her two hits and three RBI’s to lead the East Columbus Gators to a 10-0 win over North East Carolina Prep on Friday in the 1A playoffs.
The win advances the Gators to the third round against #2 Northside-Pineville (17-5) today (Tuesday) in Pineville. Ashlynn Smith added to the Gator attack with a double and two RBI’s. Gracie Coyle went the distance with one hit and nine strikeouts. East Columbus is now 20-5 on the year.
