Here’s today’s Bottom Line
Columbus County dodged a bit of a bullet with severe weather yesterday. Golf ball size hail was confirmed at Green Sea, while areas along the state line measured well over an inch of rainfall from the severe thunderstorms.
That was in association with a cold front, and we’re really feeling those effects this morning with temps in the 50s. This will lead to an absolutely gorgeous day across the county with bright sunshine and highs in the mid 70s. We’ll be in the upper 70s to around 80 on Wednesday with more sunshine, a little more cloudiness during the afternoon.
The next front… a weak one… moves through late Wednesday night. The dynamics with this shunt off to our north, but a few scattered showers are probable over the area. Perhaps a 50/50 chance for those showers, and rainfall amounts should generally be light.
The sunshine is back on Thursday… and we begin a rather substantial warmup by the weekend. We’ll be well into the 90s Sunday and through much of next week as Bermuda high pressure takes hold.
