Richard “Sling” Shaw Wins First Showdown at Sundown Putt-Putt

Richard “Sling” Shaw took first place recently in the first ever Showdown at Sundown Putt-Putt match ever at Goldston’s Beach at White Lake.

The event came about after the inaugural Almost Famous Putt-Putt Championship at Goldston’s Beach on June 13. The event was a fundraiser for the White Lake Fire and Police Departments. They raised $4,000 in the event, which gave rise to the weekly tournament series.

Shaw’s victory saw second place belonging to Kent Porter and Daryl Davis while Jerry Padrick took third place.

The Showdown at Sundown Tournament will take place at Goldston’s  Beach at White Lake at 7:45 p.m. every Tuesday. The cost to enter is the cost of putt-putt plus $5 entry fee. Players must use equipment provided by Goldston’s Beach.
