Here’s today’s Bottom Line

The heat wave continues, today is day four. The high pressure ridge responsible for all of this will push a little bit to the east. Temps will be a touch cooler today… “only” in the upper 90s as opposed to triple digits. The heat index values will still be 105-110.

Isolated thunderstorms are possible late this afternoon… possible but unlikely locally. I think any storm activity remains along and west of I-95.

A notable uptick in humidity sets in for the work week. We’ll have slightly cooler temps — “only” in the mid 90s — but with the increased humidity we should still experience heat index values north of 105. Modeling suggests heat index of 110 or higher for southern ColCo into Horry county on Monday and Tuesday.

Thunderstorm chances ramp up during the work week. Development will be on the Piedmont trough drifting east, and the sea-breeze boundary pushing west. Some places will get buckets of rain while others get little to nothing.
