Alton James Holloman Sr. 58, of Whiteville, N.C. passed on August 27, 2026 in Columbus County. He was born on March 29, 1968 in Columbus County. The son of James M. Holloman and the late Iris E. Norris.
He was a volunteer firefighter for 42 years at Hallsboro Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Gooden-Holloman; parents, James “Jimmy” Holloman and Judy Holloman of Whiteville; sons, Alton James “Jamie” Holloman, Jr. and wife Sarah of Whiteville, Wesley A. Holloman and wife Jessica of Whiteville; daughter, Chelsea Lynn Gooden of Whiteville; brother, John Holloman and wife Lora of Fayetteville; sisters, Phyllis Anderson of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Gracelynn Edwards, Alayna Holloman, Emerie Holloman, Katie Holloman; several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles F. Holloman and Gertrude Holloman; maternal grandparents, Alton Norris and Alice Norris.
His funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday Aug. 30, 2026 at Hallsboro Church of God with Rev. Danny Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Flynn Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Saturday August 29, 2026 at Peacock Funeral Home.
