Here’s today’s Bottom Line

The heat wave continues…

Heat advisory is in place today for heat index value between 105-110. Advisories are likely for each of the next several days.

High pressure ridge will remain in place… but will be “interrupted” by a weak cold front today. This frontal boundary, combined with the sea-breeze, will be a focus for showers and possibly strong thunderstorms later this afternoon and this evening.

The high reasserts control but starts to get pushed a bit to the west early next week. This may allow “ring of fire” thunderstorm activity to occur late each afternoon/evening Tuesday and Wednesday. No real end in sight to this brutal heat.

Tropics: Both Invest 92L and 94L are on life support at this time. 94L has a better chance of hanging on a few more days, but ultimately by early next week both should be in the history books.
