Here’s today’s Bottom Line

The overall weather pattern will be conducive to a welcome break from the extreme heat and humidity for the next few days.

Noticeably drier air will be in place today. There will be the lingering frontal boundary, or at least its ghost, in place today into tonight, and while that may spark a renegade isolated thunderstorm, the vast majority of us will enjoy a bright sunny day. Highs will be around 90… but the humidity levels will be low this afternoon so it’ll be “pleasantly hot.”

Much of the same will be the rule for Monday with another mainly dry day despite the remnants of that front in place.

But then reality returns for the second half of the week as humidity returns, moisture pumps up from the Gulf, and thunderstorms start to become more prevalent. This will especially be true Thursday and Friday ahead of the next cold front slated to arrive over the weekend.

TROPICS: There are some areas of disturbed weather that the NHC is monitoring. None of them pose any threat to the United States. A wave will move off the African coast and this will bear watching, but with the profound El Nino in place, conditions over the Atlantic are rather hostile to the development of systems. We’ll watch and see.
