Here’s today’s Bottom Line
If you have any outdoor plans or things to take care of over the next 5-7 days, today is the day to get them done. Weak high pressure will bring dry conditions today with temps running a little bit above seasonal norms… nothing too extreme.
A return of moisture starts to build on Wednesday as a surface front, paired with an upper-level trough, approach the area. Scattered thunderstorms are possible Wednesday. The front approaches and stalls out over the area for Thursday, Friday, and into Saturday. This will bring rather significant rain chances to the area. Model blends point to 1-2 inches of rain through the period but that will be highly dependent on where individual storms become established (similar to last Friday afternoon/evening).
LUNAR ECLIPSE: There will be a lunar eclipse during the night Thursday night/Friday. Viewing is not looking good as we’ll have a pretty solid overcast with occasional showers and thunderstorms.
TROPICS: Still watching two areas of interest in the Atlantic. The first one may form a short-lived tropical depression or even storm this afternoon, moving north/east and away from the coast.
The second system is moving off the Africa coast and this has a pretty good chance for development. There’s still some question as to how conducive the environment over the ocean is for sustaining a system. Either way this does not appear that it will be any threat to the US east coast thanks to a persistent trough that will be in place.
