Here’s today’s Bottom Line
Greetings for the second day of Sweat-ember. Unseasonable heat will continue into Saturday… and a heat advisory is in place for today from 11 AM to 8 PM.
Strong high pressure both high in the atmosphere and at the surface will keep the area in this unseasonably hot and rain-free regime in place.
This high will crest the area on Thursday and then retreat southward on Friday. Heat advisories are likely on Thursday, probable on Friday and maybe even Saturday.
A cold front approaches on Saturday. It’s still going to be hot and humid but there will be an increasing threat for thunderstorms later in the day and Saturday night. There is a non-zero threat for severe weather but it’s going to depend on the strength of the front and the timing of the frontal passage.
Shower and storm chances continue on Sunday. The front is offshore and gone by Labor Day and we’ll enjoy refreshingly less humid air over the region with highs in the mid 80s.
TROPICS: Remnants of Tropical Storm Edouard continue to dissipate over Texas. There are no other tropical threats for the next 7 days.
