Here’s today’s Bottom Line

High pressure that brought 90-degree heat to the area will push offshore today. This will allow a much more humid flow of southwesterly air to invade the area today. We’ll be a few degrees cooler but with the increased humidity, heat index values will be in the mid 90s. I can’t believe I wrote “heat index” in the middle of October.

Strong cold front pushes across the area early Saturday morning. This is trending more and more moist, and while the future radar models are fairly aggressive in rainfall coverage, my faith in the modeling as of late has diminished considerably. Therefore my forecast for Saturday will call for a few scattered showers in the morning, then clearing skies.

Then very chilly air enters the picture for Saturday night into early Sunday. Lows will bottom out around 40 degrees early Sunday… with some outlying areas dipping into the upper 30s (!!). Very dry air will be in place, so even if we were to get to the magic 37-degree mark, frost is not going to be a threat.

We’ll slowly rebound in temps into next week with abundant sunshine.

TROPICS: No threats.
