Here’s today’s Bottom Line
The dry spell continues. Yesterday was day #16 in Whiteville since our last measurable rain event. Things have become dangerous with all the leaves falling, etc. ANY spark or careless cigarette butt could cause a wildfire at this point. Please be very careful if doing any outdoor burning.
High pressure continues to keep us dry and unseasonably warm through Wednesday.
A frontal system will approach the area on Thursday and move slowly over the area through Friday. Precipitation chances are still looking rather low, and will likely be in the form of spotty showers and thunderstorms. And that “one cell” that pops may be rather strong.
Cooler high pressure then builds in over the weekend.
Tropics: An area of low pressure is likely to develop well offshore. This may take on subtropical characteristics … but is going to be zero threat to the United States.
