The suspect arrested in a drug raid Aug. 5 has no name or address that he is sharing with law enforcement – but he has a string of felony charges.
Johnn Henry Doe, 25, was arrested after deputies raided a Lewis Street home in Tabor City Thursday. Warrants show he is charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver opiates, marijuana and cocaine; altering the serial number of a firearm; possession of a weapon of mass destruction; altering the serial number on a firearm; and resisting an officer. He was held under no bond pending identification.
Doe allegedly fled from deputies who were serving a search warrant on the home Thursday afternoon. He was captured a short time later.
Deputies recovered a Taurus .410 Judge with the stock and barrel removed, and a Smith and Wesson .45 handgun with a scratched-off serial number, according to the warrants. They also seized 42.2 grams of marijuana, 15.3 grams of cocaine, one-half-ounce of codeine cough syrup, and a set of scales.
Deputies surrounded the home shortly before 6 p.m. A large crowd gathered across the street, watching and recording as the scene was secured.
Tabor City Police Chief Donald Dowless said the home’s owner recently died, and tenants of the property have been the target of multiple complaints.
“We appreciate the sheriff’s office helping us on these cases down here,” Dowless said. “There has been a lot of trouble around that house.”
