Tabor shooting crosses state line

A break-in and shooting at Tabor City Sunday may have crossed the state line.

Jacqueline McCullon called 911 to report an alleged break-in at 6:33 p.m., according to sheriff’s office reports. McCullon and Ursula Vereen told deputies they when four black males allegedly tried to enter the home saw at 43 Ward Town Road.

The sheriff’s office reported that the men left the home and got into a vehicle. Someone in the vehicle fired at least one shot as they were leaving, the report said.

Investigators discovered that the property was actually in Horry County, S.C., but the shots were fired in Columbus. 

No injuries or property damage were reported. Both Horry County Police and the Columbus county Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
