Police: Man in Street Had Drugs

Lightbar on a car

Chadbourn Police arrested a Clarkton man Tuesday after he allegedly stood in the roadway, fought officers and had narcotics in his pocket.

Davion Jabias Frink, 21, was charged with two counts of assault on a government employee, resisting an officer, possession of cocaine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $1,000. Frink gave his address on jail records as 79 Plum St., Clarkton.

Chief Ken Elliot of the Chadbourn Police said officers were patrolling East Third Street after complaints about open air narcotics sales in the area. Frink was spotted standing in the middle of the roadway, a few feet from a sign prohibiting loitering. He did not move when the patrol vehicle drove by.

“The officer had to go around Mr. Frink to avoid hitting him,” Elliot said.

The officer then turned around and came back. When the officer said he was citing Frink for standing in the roadway, Frink refused to give the officer his identification. He then allegedly began fighting the officer, who called for assistance.

Frink was detained and taken before a magistrate, Elliot said. While they were searching Frink for weapons, officers reported finding cocaine and marijuana in his clothing.
