Youngsters can explore nature and have fun learning about science Saturday in downtown Whiteville.

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Whiteville is partnering with the Columbus Council of the N.C. Reading Association to bring a free reading activity program to the area. On Saturday (April 2) youngsters will be invited to Spring into Science.

From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., little ones of all ages can dig for fossils, make nature art, do puzzles, plant wildflower seeds, observe pollinators, and check out the science laboratory photo booth.  Each child who attends will earn a free book by completing fun science activities based on some of the museum’s favorite stories.

Admission and parking are free at the event. The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Whiteville is located at 415 South Madison Street. For more information about Spring into Science or the Storywalk, call 910.788.5100 or email at brian.wuertz@naturalsciences.org.
