Three people, including a juvenile, were arrested after a chase from South Carolina went through Columbus County into Lumberton.
Ahmad Devonte Scott, 24, Ke’vonna Enve Mendoza-Smith, 21, and a 17 year old juvenile are alleged to have fled a traffic stop in Horry County according to the sheriff’s office. Horry Police pursued the vehicle into Columbus at a high rate of speed. Deputies were contacted by Horry County around 12:17 p.m. Monday night.
The chase went down “multiple” roads in Columbus, the report said, before heading into Robeson County. The vehicle was finally stopped in the vicinity of Jones Auto Sales in Lumberton.
Deputies and officers recovered three handguns – a 9mm, 10mm and a .380 – in addition to quantities of oxycodone and marijuana. A plastic bag containing a white powered substance was also recovered, the report said.
Scott, of 226 Queen St., Tabor City, was charged with two counts of trafficking opiates, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana; three counts of carrying a concealed weapon; possession of drug paraphernalia, and first degree trespassing. His bond was set at $100,000.
Smith, whose address was listed as 360 Commonwealth Circle, Conway, S.C., faces the same charges. Her bond was also set at $100,000.
The details of the juvenile petition were not immediately available.
