CCSO: man had moonshine in car he drove at deputies

A Tabor City man was arrested early Monday morning after deputies allegedly discovered illegal moonshine whisky in his car.

Jail reports show that Kelly Delane Mills, 48, of Mills Drive, was arrested at the intersection of James B. White Highway and Peacock Road just minutes after midnight. Mills allegedly turned off his headlights as he was approaching a traffic checkpoint, and aimed his vehicle at the deputies. When he was stopped a short distance later, Deputies detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. They recovered a quantity of the stump hole liquor in a jar in the cupholder of his Nissan Maxima.

Mills was released on a secured $2500 bond, charged with two counts of possession for sale of non tax paid liquor, and driving while license revoked.
