James “Polly” Milton Parker, 87, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022. He was born November 1, 1934 in Columbus County, the son of the late Vander P. and Maude Batchelor Parker. Mr. Parker retired from Riegel/Federal Paper after 37 1/2 years of service. He helped organized the Bolton Fire Department and served as a member for twenty years, and was a member of Bolton Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patsy Shepherd Parker; a daughter, Barbara Forbes and husband, Keith of Raeford; three brothers, Charles Parker and Pat Freeman of Sunset Harbour, Maurice Parker of Mechanicsville, VA, and Jimmy Parker and wife, Jennifer of Whiteville; a sister, Ann Cosper and husband, Ronnie of Columbia, SC; a granddaughter, Jennifer Parker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, James Parker, Jr. and a grandson, Michael James Parker.
Funeral service will be conducted 3:00 pm on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Bolton Baptist Church by Rev. Phil Addison and Rev. Sterling Sarvis. Visitation will be an hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be in Lake Waccamaw Hillcrest Cemetery. Donations may be made to Bolton Baptist Church, 126 Poplar St., Bolton, NC.
