Deputies Find Drugs During Larceny Call

Two suspects were jailed after deputies responding to a larceny call allegedly found not just a damaged home, but methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.

Stephanie Renee Fowler, 41, and John Burvie Spivey, 36, were charged with breaking, entering and larceny, and conspiracy. Fowler was also charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine, and Spivey was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fowler, who gave her address as 111 Sander St., Tabor City, was held under no bond. Spivey was held under $75,000 bond. His address was listed as 56 Sandy Acres Lane, Whiteville.

The sheriff’s office said that on Oct. 6, deputies were called to a home in the t00 block of Whitehall Road about a possible break-in. Fowler and Spivey were allegedly removing items from the home and placing them in a vehicle.

Deputies detained both on their arrival, and saw damage to the front door and frame of the home, the report said. Spivey allegedly had a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine, and Fowler had a quantity of the drug on her person, the report said.
