November 24, 1932 ~ October 9, 2022 (age 89)
Grady Duncan, age 89 of the Ward Station Community in Chadbourn, entered into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville.
Grady was born on November 24, 1932, son of the late Victor Duncan and Elverta Sellers Duncan-Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Duncan Buffkin; siblings, Kenneth Johnson, Arvell Duncan, Dorothy “Dot” Borino, and Richard Johnson.
Grady’s funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Worthington Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Hooker officiating. Interment will follow in the Ward Station Church of God Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Worthington Funeral Home.
Prior to his retirement, Grady served as a Lieutenant with the NC Department of Corrections; Mr. Duncan also served his Country in the United States Navy.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Martha Nobles Duncan; son, Mark Duncan and wife, Angela, of Chadbourn; brother, Ronnie Johnson (Carolyn) of Gaston, SC; sisters, Willa Dean “Deanie” Boyd of Mebane and Carrie Rising (Jack) of Clarendon; grandchildren: Melissa Watts, Cory Duncan, Amanda Green, Amber Walters; great-grandchildren, Olivia Watts, Joshua Watts, Tucker Green, Montana Duncan, and Tori Green.
