Child Sex Offense Suspect Charged in Bomb Threat

A child sex offense suspect is under a $2 million bond after allegedly threatening to bomb the Bladen County Courthouse.

William Bryan Clark, 44, of 303 Glenwood Dr., Elizabethtown, was arrested by the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Monday on a single charge of making a false bomb threat. He was initially held under no bond, but a Superior Court Judge set bond at $2 million Thursday.

The District Attorney’s Office in Elizabethtown contacted the sheriff’s office Monday after receiving an email threatening to “blow up” the courthouse, the BCSO said. The N.C. State Bureau of Investigation tracked the IP address to Clark’s home, where he was arrested.

Clark is facing charges from 2025 of second and third degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and disseminating obscene material to a minor. He was indicted for those charged in December, according to court records.
