The alleged gunman who became a robbery victim after a January shooting, and his alleged robber, have been indicted by a Columbus County grand jury.
Jeremiah Nyree Long, 18, died at an area hospital after he was shot in a field off Dothan Road on Jan. 23, according to the sheriff’s office.
True bills have been returned against Mason Farnsworth for first degree murder, and Kywoan Long for armed robbery. Farnsworth turned 18 June 9, according to warrants. He was indicted June 10 by a Columbus County Grand jury. Kywoan Long turned 18 on June 10. He was indicted the same day. His indictment says that Long used a firearm to steal marijuana from Farnsworth.
Farnsworth also faces charges of conspiracy to sell marijuana, and possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. His address was listed as 136 Maddux Lane, Apt. C, Myrtle Beach.
Jalen Amari Campbell, 19, and Farnsworth – who was then 17 — were initially charged in the killing. Campbell listed his address as Geddings Drive, Myrtle Beach.
Kywoan Long, who was also 17 at the time, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. His address was listed as 3794 Old Dothan Rd., Tabor City.
Deputies were called to a field off Old Dothan Road on Jan. 23 to a report of shots fired. Individuals were administering first aid to Jeremiah Long when the deputies arrived. Deputies continued providing emergency care until Nakina Rescue arrived to transport Long to Loris Hospital. He later died at the facility.
Campbell and Farnsworth were arrested in Socastee, S.C. on Jan. 25.
