Due to the many road closures occurring across the area, Columbus County Schools will remain in remote instruction for Friday.
County schools spokesman Kelly Jones announced the change this afternoon.
While water from Hurricane Idalia is falling in some areas, other communities are seeing a rise in floodwaters. State Highway officials closed 25roads in the county this morning to allow runoff to drop and crews to look for scouring and damage.
Students should check Google Classroom for assignments and office hours. There is a two-hour delay for staff.
Friday night sporting events are still on schedule.
