Updated: Three Charged in King Arthur Drive Shooting

Three alleged gunmen have been charged with attempted murder and conspiracy for a shooting near Whiteville.

Brice Pridgen, 22, and Brayshaun Zarchary Davis, 19, are being held on charges of attempted first degree murder and conspiracy. Davis was also charged with a felony probation violation.

Chase Canty, 22, turned himself in Friday afternoon (May 10). He is charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling as well as attempted first degree murder and conspiracy. He was also held under no bond.

The sheriff’s office reported that the three are alleged to have damaged a home and vehicle on King Arthur Drive May 6. Damages were estimated at $1,000 damage. No one was injured in the home.

The first incident occurred January 12 at Lewis and Virgil

streets in Whiteville, when one man was injured and Brice Pridgen sent to jail. Antonio Alex Dobie, Bradley O’Brian Pridgen and Davis were later arrested by Whiteville Police. Each was charged with going armed to the terror of the public and firing into an occupied dwelling or vehicle.

Davis’ bond was set at $750,000 in that case, but that was later reduced by a judge. He and Pridgen were out on bond at the time of the May 6 shooting.
