Thieves Break Brick Wall, Steal Drugs

Thieves took 20 bottles of Oxycodone from a drug store after breaching a brick wall Friday.

John Thomas called the sheriff’s office after discovering that someone had broken into the Riegelwood Mutual Drug Store at 27449 Andrew Jackson Highway in Delco. Deputies were dispatched at 5:07 a.m., the report said.

The unidentified suspects broke through a brick wall and crawled through the hole into the pharmacy. Thomas reported that $1,000 worth of Oxycodone and “prescription papers” were stolen, and several drawers ransacked. Damages to the building were estimated at $1,000.

The report said the store does have security cameras.

The investigation is continuing, and anyone with information about the break-in is asked to call 910.642.6551.
