Bandit Hits Fair Bluff Store

Authorities are searching for a black man in dark clothing who robbed the Fair Bluff Dollar general Sunday.

The sheriff’s office reported that the unknown man came into the store around 10 p.m., went to the cash register and demanded cash from both the register and the store safe. The report did not say if he displayed a weapon.

The employee put around $200 on the counter and told the suspect that he did not have a key to the safe.

“The male then started to grab the money when he sees the automatic doors begin to close,” the report said, “and (he) runs towards the door but then turns back around and grabs the rest of the money.” The suspect fled toward Railroad Street.

The report described the suspect as a black male around six feet tall wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black shoes and a black ski mask.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the sheriff’s office.
