The driver who left the scene of an early morning fatality in Fair Bluff will not be charged.

Entrell Moore, 20, of Tabor City thought he had struck an animal in the roadway at Elm and Academy streets during the early morning hours of Oct. 26. Jarrell McMillan, 36, of Fair Bluff was run over by at least three vehicles, McVicker said.

Moore was driving a 2016 Dodge van. He contacted the Highway Patrol two days after the incident, McVicker said.

“He admitted to hitting something in the roadway, and thought it might be an animal,” McVicker said. “We still want to talk to the other two motorists.”

After conferring with the District Attorney McVicker said, the decision was reached no to press charges.
