Lonnie Cardill is recovering after being struck by a car on Powell Boulevard in Whiteville Friday. Whiteville Police said Cardill darted into traffic near Hay Street around 6:45 p.m.
A boil advisory has been issued in the county District II after contractors broke a water line today, leading to pressure loss for customers in some areas, according to a press release from the county.
Columbus County Commissioners swore in five members, and voted in new chairman. Laverne Coleman, Chris Smith replace Rickey Bullard, Giles Byrd as Columbus County Commission chair and vice chair.
Someone stole a camper trailer from a Home Harrelson Road address Nov. 30. The sheriff’s office reported that the camper was last known secure at 317 Home Harrelson Road on Nov. 29 around 10 p.m. Sarah Gore called to report it missing the next morning at 11:30 a.m.
