Special Olympics is coming back to Columbus County on April 9. The field day will be at the Whiteville High soccer fields. Sponsors are needed for the event. Contact Kristen Greene or Columbus County Special Olympics via Facebook messenger for more information.

 

The investigation is continuing into the death of a Bermuda Bay man who disappeared February 13. Family members searching for Ervin Hakeem Johnson on Tuesday found the missing man’s body at a pond near the family home. The SBI said a cause of death has not been determined. Johnson disappeared from his residence around 3:00 a.m. February 13.

 

CCN Business Spotlight – The Wild Horse Preserve at Grayce Wynds is a nonprofit educational and recreational farm, established May 2018. Different Abilities Awareness Family Night is March 4 from 6:00 –  8:00 p.m. at the Chadbourn Elementary Media Center. Organizations from across the state will be on hand to share information, resources and support for families and individuals with disabilities. The event is free and everyone is welcome.
