State Board of Elections Under Fire

The State Board of Elections is coming under fire from voting watchdog groups for a new list of approved forms of voter  IDs.

The new list was released Friday, and includes cards issued by UNC schools, some private and public employers.

Critics say the loosened requirements are an end run around proving residence and voter eligibility.

Municipal elections are set for September, October and November, while the state primary is in March, with a November general election.
