News Briefs for June 6, 2025
A narcotics suspect had large quantities of opiates and a fully-automatic AR pistol when he was arrested by Vice Narcotics agents. Dalvin Devonte Smith, age 24, was arrested in Green Acres. A sheriff’s office K9 was deployed during the arrest.
A drive by shooting on Spring Meadow Road Wednesday left damage to a home, but no injuries. Two people were inside the home when it was hit by several rounds. The incident is under investigation.
A heat health advisory has been issued for Saturday due to high humidity and soaring temperatures. Columbus Emergency Management encourages everyone to stay hydrated, take frequent breaks if you must be outside, and be sure your pets have cool clean water.
