Tabor Talk for August 6, 2025

By Cynthia Nelson

Executive Vice President, GTCOC

Can you believe it’s August? With August comes back to school planning as our children prepare to return to school.

Many of our area schools have already rung that first day of school bell.  If you are still looking for bargains, keep your eyes open for those Back-to-School sales featuring various supplies and clothes. As always, #TryTaborCityFirst for all of your shopping needs.  It is important to #shoplocal and support those who support us day after day for event after event, sports, etc.

Also with August comes deeper diving into preparations for the N.C. Yam Festival.  The GTC Chamber of Commerce offers assistance to the N.C. Yam Festival Association as much as possible. Our community and several organizations come together to make this event as great as we possibly can.

Sponsorships are available, so if you are interested in gaining publicity and promoting your business, organization, etc. while supporting the festival, please let us know by reaching out by email or phone.  ncyamfest@gmail.com / 910.377.3248 or 910.840.0292
