Sunday Night Shooting Leaves One Hurt

One man was hurt and a suspect is being sought after a shooting in Whiteville Sunday.

Marcus Faulk sustained non life-threatening injuries in the incident, according to Whiteville Police. Officers responded to a reported shooting at 316 Burkhead Street at 11:32 p.m. and were told Faulk had been taken to Columbus Regional by private vehicle. He was later transported to New Hanover, where is recovering.

WPD’s Criminal/Narcotics Investigation Division identified a suspect, Chief Paul Rockenbach said, and have obtained warrants for possession of a firearm by a felon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury. The suspect’s name has not been released, Rockenbach said.
