Thieves took more than $13,000 worth of appliances and furnishings from mobile homes at a Whiteville dealership Thursday night.
Lt. S. Moody of the Whiteville Police said employees at Clayton Homes on South J.K. Powell Boulevard found the theft Friday morning. The 911 call was made at 10:08 a.m.
Among the items taken were five kitchen ranges, valued at $1,000 each; three refrigerators worth $1,600; two microwave ovens estimated at $1,000 each; a blue sofa, chair and other furniture worth $2,197.
More than one suspect is thought to have been involved in the theft, Moody said. The case is under investigation.
