Johnston County deputies recovered 20 weapons taken from a Columbus County home when they arrested a Clayton man on stolen firearms charges, the Columbus Sheriff’s Office said.
Larry Christopher Norris, 47, of Englewood Drive, Clayton is being held under a $6 million secured bond, according to a release from the sheriff’s office. Norris faces 28 counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, and 20 counts of larceny of a firearm.
The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the victim’s home on May 25. The victim reported that 20 firearms, several watches and around 3,000 rounds of ammunition were stolen after someone forced entry into the home.
Using surveillance footage and interviews with residents, Norris was identified as the suspect in the case.
Johnston County detectives executed a search warrant on Norris’ home Sept. 10, and discovered several stolen firearms that traced back to the Columbus County incident.
