
In Roseboro, East Columbus continued its domination of the Carolina Conference with a 3-0 sweep of Lakewood Thursday.
The Gators took all three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-15, and 25-17. Malia Graham led the Gators with 14 kills and Skylah Collins contributed nine kills. Brittany Mitchell dished out 22 assists for East Columbus.
The Gators are now riding a 13-game winning streak, pushing their conference record to 8-1 and 14-1 overall. They will travel to Hobbton on Tuesday, while Lakewood (1-9, 2-13) will travel to Clinton (11-6) on Monday in a non-conference match.
At Dublin, the Knights continued their quest for a Southeastern Conference championship alive with a 3-0 victory over Red Springs. The Knights (7-1, 13-2) took the sets 25-9, 25-6, and 25-10. Makenna Thurman led the Knights with seven kills while Greer Pope dished out 30 assists.
The Knights face South Columbus (5-3, 10-10) on Tuesday. Red Springs falls to 1-7 in the conference and 3-14 overall. They will go to Whiteville (0-7, 1-13) on Monday.
In Boiling Springs, South Brunswick defeated South Columbus 3-0 Thursday. The set scores were 25-11, 25-11, and 25-23. South Brunswick (8-0, 13-4) is set to face Fairmont on Tuesday. The Stallions go to 5-3 in the conference and 10-10 overall. They will host West Bladen Tuesday.
