No injuries were reported after a standoff lasting more than an hour in Whiteville Thursday.
Jimmy Elroy Scott was taken into custody after allegedly threatening Whiteville Police and a victim. Chief Paul Rockenbach said police were called to 904 Lee Street around 3:30 p.m. to a possible domestic dispute.
Upon their arrival, officers found Scott in the street. He held one hand behind his back and retreated into an apartment, where he barricaded himself for roughly 90 minutes.
Officers partially blocked the street while they negotiated with Scott.
Scott, 46, was held under no bond, charged with resisting and officer and assault on a female.
