Bolton Man Named as Crash Victim

Whiteville Police have identified the man who died in a single vehicle wreck on U.S. 74 today (Monday).

Anthony Shannon Arp, 44, of Bolton died when he wrecked in the westbound lane near Exit 242, according to a press release by WPD.

Arp was traveling at a high rate of speed when he overcorrected and crashed his Honda Accord. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

“The Whiteville Police Department extends its sincere condolences to Mr. Arp’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” chief Paul Rockenbach said. “We ask that the community keep them in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this difficult time.”
