Commissioners Call Emergency Meeting

Columbus County Commissioners will hold a called meeting at 8:15 a.m. Friday for a briefing on the pending winter storm, and to cancel Monday’s regular session.

Monday’s agenda items will be taken up Friday, according to the announcement from the county.

Among the items on the agenda are discussion of an administrative services contract with MacAdams and Associates for the Southeast Regional Park project. The firm would be paid $62,500 in grant funding to assist on the project.

The board will also consider a budget amendment for the Emergency Services central garage; a project ordinance for improvements at the Columbus Regional Airport; and other business.

Utilities director Harold Nobles is requesting approval of a $500,000 grant to extend the Lebanon road water project to Beaverdam Road. The board will also vote on the donation of a tract in Dothan and the naming of a water tower to go on the property, and a resolution naming February as Teen Dating Awareness Month.
