Smoke from a burning home in Kelly Monday was visible across the Cape Fear River.
Acme Delco Riegelwood Fire-Rescue Chief Steve Camlin said ADR responded mutual aid along with East Arcadia, Atkinson and White Lake to assist Kelly Firefighters. The Natmoore Road home had been abandoned since it was flooded during Hurricane Florence, but still had electricity and was used for storage.
The fire took most of the day to extinguish. ADR also brought a brush truck to help clear a line around the home.
The cause of the fire was not immediately available.
