A search warrant led to the arrest of a Whiteville man on multiple sex charges Monday.
Jablonski Ayala More, 49, of 414 Franklin St., was held without bond on charges of first degree kidnapping, sexual servitude of an adult, second degree forcible rape and assault on a female, according to detention center records.
The sheriff’s office reported that deputies were called to Columbus Regional Sunday in reference to an alleged sexual assault, according to a press release. Detectives worked closely with medical staff and a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) to gather evidence.
The sheriff’s office and the State Bureau of Investigation Criminal Apprehension Team then executed a search warrant on Moore’s home just outside of Whiteville, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Moore has an extensive criminal history stretching back to the year 2000, with plea deals for assault, breaking and entering, parole violations and drug offenses.
“Cases like this are among the most serious and disturbing that our investigators handle,” Sheriff Bill Rogers said. “I am proud of the swift and professional work by our Special Victims Unit and our partners at the SBI in bringing this individual into custody. We remain committed to seeking justice for victims and ensuring those responsible for violent crimes are held accountable.”
